The Addis Ababa City Administration Finance Office took proactive steps towards promoting ethical service and good management within government institutions by conducting awareness training sessions for directorates and experts on ethics and governance. In his opening address, Ato Zelema Habte, the Director of the Ethics Monitoring Directorate, emphasized the importance of cultivating ethical leadership and professionalism among public servants to enhance service delivery standards. He highlighted the pivotal role of ethical behavior in fostering trust and credibility in government operations. Ato Dereje Girma, a training expert from the commission, underscored the primary objective of the training, which aimed to impart fundamental knowledge and skills regarding the significance of ethics in governance. He emphasized that ethical conduct is integral to the establishment of good governance principles and practices. During the training sessions, Ato Dereje elaborated on the critical role of preventing and controlling corruption to uphold the rule of law and promote transparency and accountability. He stressed the need for concerted efforts to strengthen institutional mechanisms for combating corruption and ensuring adherence to ethical standards across all levels of government. By equipping participants with essential knowledge and tools for promoting ethical conduct and good governance, the Addis Ababa City Administration Finance Office aims to foster a culture of integrity, responsibility, and effectiveness in public service delivery.
